According to the traffic model, up to 60,000 passengers will use the Fast Connection between Prague and Brno every day, spending only one hour on the journey. The connection between Ostrava and Prague will also be significantly shortened, taking only 1 h 36 min.

The line will carry not only express trains running at 320 km/h, but also other trains serving smaller towns on the route. This is due to track connections between High-Speed and existing railway. That means residents of Havlíčkův Brod, Žďár nad Sázavou and Hranice will also have a significantly shorter travel time.

The line is also important from an international perspective, as VRT Praha – Brno – Ostrava/Břeclav will form the backbone of the High-Speed Railway network in Central Europe. It will also be used for connections to Warsaw, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest.
