Brno – Přerov

In the section Brno – Přerov, a series of construction projects are prepared to make way for the addition of a second track and the modernisation of the conventional line to accommodate maximum train speeds of 200 km/h. This RS – Fast Connection (FC) will be part of the upcoming VRT Praha/Prague – Brno – Ostrava (RS 1).

RS Brno – Přerov will be part of the first complete section of High-Speed Line from Brno to Ostrava-Svinov. It will consist of RS Brno – Přerov and VRT Moravská brána (Brodek u Přerova – Ostrava-Svinov) and should carry passengers within 10 years.

The section RS Brno – Přerov will operate at speeds of up to 200 km/h. That is also why all level crossings on it will be replaced by off-grade crossings.

Modernised stations will enable comprehensive barrier-free access. Island platforms will be connected to station buildings by underpasses and will newly allow access for people with reduced mobility. New, barrier-free platforms will also be built, with a boarding edge height of 550 mm above the track, making it easier for passengers to board trains.

Noise-protection measures are also an integral part of the project.

A Total of Five Constructions Are Slated for Modernisation

Modernisation of the Brno – Přerov Line, 1st stage Brno – Blažovice

The project envisages a partial relocation of the line outside the village of Ponětovice and around Brno-Tuřany Airport, maintaining the section through Šlapanice. Trains between Brno-Slatina and Blažovice will thus be able to use two double-track lines. The project includes complete reconstruction of Brno-Slatina station, including moving the platforms to the existing road overpass in Tuřanka street. The Ponětovice stop will be relocated and new stops Brno-Tuřany and Brno-Černovická terasa are also planned.

Modernisation of the Brno – Přerov Line, 2nd Stage, Blažovice – Vyškov

The primary scope of the project is laying a new double-track line in the section Blažovice (inclusive) – Vyškov (inclusive), mainly in new track bed. The stations Blažovice, Holubice, Luleč and Vyškov na Moravě and the stop Rousínov will be built on the line. The existing single-track line will be put out of operation. The construction includes three new tunnels, the longest of which is almost 1 km long (Holubický 980 m, Rousínovský 700 m and Habrovanský 280 m long), and extensive bridge construction.

Modernisation of the Line Brno – Přerov, 3rd Stage, Vyškov – Nezamyslice

The project focuses on the construction of a new double-track line in the section Vyškov (excluding) – Nezamyslice (including), mainly in new track bed. The stations Ivanovice na Hané and Nezamyslice and the stop Chvalkovice na Hané will be established on the line. The existing single-track line will be put out of operation. The project includes extensive relocations, two new tunnels (Pustiměřský 500 m and Dřevnovický 380 m long) and a bridge construction.

Modernisation of the Line Brno – Přerov, 4th Stage, Nezamyslice – Kojetín

Construction includes complete reconstruction of the railway infrastructure in the section between Nezamyslice and Kojetín. Also included are two railway stops – Němčice nad Hanou and Měrovice nad Hanou. The original railway station in Němčice nad Hanou will be closed and replaced by a branch line. A notable construction project on the modernised section will be the double-tracked, 747-metre long Nemčický tunnel through the hill Kozlov. The largest bridge project will be a 134-metre-long elevated track spanning the Žlebůvka stream and the II/433 road. Based on the results of the acoustic study, three noise barriers have been designed. Again, the line will be entirely double-tracked.

Modernisation of the Line Brno – Přerov, 5th Stage, Kojetín – Přerov

The project takes into account reconstruction of railway infrastructure in the section Kojetín – Přerov, its double-tracking and other modifications. Kojetín and Chropyně stations will be reconstructed. Within the section Chropyně – Přerov, the existing station Věžky will be replaced by a new stop of the same name in the same location. The cancelled railway station will be replaced by the new branch line Bochoř, the implementation of which is necessary to increase the capacity of the railway.
