Shape of HSL terminal between Kořenice and Bečváry will be determined by architectural competition
Správa železnic has announced an architectural and urban planning competition for the new terminal Kořenice-Bečváry VRT (high-speed line – HSL). It will be built near today's Pučery stop in the Kolín region and will become an important interchange between high-speed rail, conventional trains and public and individual transport.

Electric trains on a frequented line in Brno region
Today, Správa železnic festively completed the modernisation and electrification of the railway line from Brno to Zastávka u Brna. The reconstruction of the entire approximately 20-kilometre section, which plays an important role in Brno's suburban transport, enabled the addition of further regional connections. Tomorrow, modern electric units will start to run there, thanks to the increased line speed they will be able to cover the entire route in less time. Passengers will also appreciate the convenient access to platforms at all stations and stops.

Preliminary geological survey for key Ore Mountain Tunnel begins
Správa železnic has started preparations for a preliminary geological survey on the route of the planned high-speed line from Prague to Dresden. Its results will determine the method of excavation of the Krušnohorský tunel (Ore Mountain Tunnel) and also measures for groundwater protection. The deepest borehole will measure 485 metres.

Safer and smoother in Olomouc. New overpass over the corridor open
Railway and road traffic on the outskirts of Olomouc is safer thanks to a new overpass, which was inaugurated today by Správa železnic. It will replace the busy crossing in Holická Street, cars will start using it tomorrow. This will significantly increase the flow of traffic between the Hodolany and Holice districts and inversely reduce noise and emissions in the vicinity of the construction. The works have been underway since the middle of last year, the total cost is CZK 374 million.

Passengers in Klatovy will get comfortable access to station building and platforms
Today Správa železnic officially launched the total reconstruction of the station building in Klatovy. Both the check-in hall and both wings of the listed building will be renovated. The construction will bring a more efficient use of interior premises, passengers will also appreciate the barrier-free access to the building and all platforms. The work will take two years.

A unique bridge spanned Orlík reservoir. It will be able to carry modern trains and speed up traffic
Today Správa železnic festively launched the operation on the bridge over the Orlík water reservoir. Its reinforced concrete arch has a span of 156 metres and is thus the largest in the Czech Republic. The new bridge, called the Schwarzenberg Bridge, will enable the introduction of modern trainsets on passenger trains, shortening travel times and also the resumption of freight transport on the entire line from Tábor to Písek. The construction started in January 2022; the total cost is almost CZK 685 million.

Record number of investments will enable further development of railway, construction of high-speed lines will begin
Správa železnic will have CZK 62.7 billion available for the renewal of railway lines and stations next year. This is almost a billion more than this year. A record 39.3 billion will be spent on investments, thanks to which, for example, the modernisation of the important Česká Třebová node will start. Next year, the construction of the first parts of the 200 km/h high-speed line from Brno to Přerov will also begin, and intensive preparation of high-speed lines will continue.

New plates will improve identification of all level crossings
Správa železnic has started installing new reflective plates on level crossings to increase traffic safety. In the near future it will equip all level crossings on its network with them. The labels include the number of the specific level crossing and highlighted emergency contact number 112. In a crisis, it will primarily help drivers to identify the scene of the incident and deal with its consequences. The current installation was preceded by a pilot operation at more than two dozen crossings, after its evaluation, the design of the labels was modified.

New control centre for HSL traffic management to be built in Prague
Správa železnic has selected the designer of the new building of the central control room for high-speed lines (HSL) in Prague at Balabenka. The contract was awarded to the company SAGASTA. The construction is scheduled for completion in 2030.
