Structurally, this will be a newly built double-track line electrified by AC power supply system and secured by the European Train Control System (ETCS).
The section will enable a substantial reduction in travel times between Praha hlavní nádraží (Prague Main Station) and the Roudnice nad Labem VRT station (19 minutes), or Lovosice and Litoměřice (up to 32 minutes). Its operation will also reduce travel times to Ústí nad Labem and Dresden by 28 minutes.
Roudnice nad Labem Station
The section will include a new passenger station Roudnice nad Labem VRT, which will serve as a transfer node between High-Speed Railway and other modes of public and individual transport in the region with a direct link to the D8 motorway. It will also offer large-capacity parking. A maintenance base, which will serve for the line maintenance between Prague and the state border, will be integrated in the terminal.
